He promised to make us last forever
He said he was my rose, the color of life flowing through my veins
He said he would give me the world, steady it on my shoulders
He reminded me of wild flowers; untamed, free spirit
From his lips dripped fireweed honey laced with larkspurs burning like lava
His smile charmed me like the hyacinth, it grew over me like the morning glory
But he forgot the thorns, the poison that came with his words
He broke me and sent me away to the sunflower galaxy
Now the tears won’t stop falling from the sand castles around my heart
